What do teachers say about this resource? (12174)
I liked this resource... The teacher notes with instructions added to the sense of being in good hands...I particularly liked the variety of activities... The resource enhances learning by consolidating knowledge but in a user friendly way so the student is unlikely to get bored and say “not this again”! Its educational value is both for the teacher to avoid reinventing the wheel and for the pupil, both as an indicator of progress during the course and for revision... It matches the specification very well following it through chronologically and there were no obvious omissions. It also interprets it at the appropriate level, allowing the opportunity for personal response but without getting too complicated.
A good resource which is clearly based on excellent knowledge...The activities themselves are good. The depth is excellent... [The resource] is fun - and would interest students... It is also highly detailed... Obviously written by a superb teacher.

Comprehensive, with a wide range of knowledge checking and independent learning tasks. I particularly liked the scaffolded articles and diary entries. They are really structured well to prompt the students to contextualise knowledge in a meaningful way. I also liked the peer review sections at the end of each research task. It enhances learning as it enables students to play around with facts in many different ways (puzzles, imaginative writing, matching). This then helps the content of the period to gain a firmer footing in students’ minds. The use of pictures and symbols is a useful way to focus students’ thoughts. I would most definitely purchase this resource for my own teaching.
