I think that it is very detailed and covers the specification extremely well. Exam skills can never be taught too early on in any course and the way in which this resource does this is superb. Overall, as a resource, this really is magnificent and is a must for any school which offers this topic to their students and should be used regularly!
The breaking down of each exam skill is, crucially, the USP of this resource. Textbooks go only so far whereas this resource is embedding skills quickly and consistently. This can also be used in parts (as opposed to all together) and teachers can utilise the areas that they feel is important. The variety of questions offered shows how knowledgeable the author is and how well they know the topic which can only be a positive for the students.
This resource enhances learning as it has directly been referenced with the Edexcel specification therefore ensuring that any student who uses it is going to get exactly what the exam board will be asking of their students. The breaking down of each question with example answers and then a further practice question to build skills is important for students to visualise how to do each question. Students need this, especially weaker students in order to slowly improve their skills. The practice papers also provide even further opportunities for development and skill testing. This is really a wonderful resource which has unlimited educational value for all who use it.
It has been written specifically for the Edexcel spec and therefore matches this perfectly – any teacher and school who offer this topic would have no issues and worries with this resource as it is perfect for their needs. As an examiner for Edexcel, whilst I don’t do this topic, the corresponding paper is one I mark and the way in which the students are being asked to answer the question fits in with the advice of the exam board. Therefore, it perfectly matches the specification.

This is a very good resource, which is well constructed and adopts an enthusiastic approach which should both energise and educate its target audience. Pupils who/classes which enter into the spirit of this resource will approach the final exam with confidence. The presentation and layout make the exercises easy to follow and the use of the Edexcel layouts for questions and sources is beneficial.

It enhances learning by giving such weight to skills, as opposed to just content. Its educational value is largely as a support to the teacher - much useful material to read for homework and helpful test papers, particularly beneficial in these early days of the syllabus.
