Learning Grids for A Level AQA Biology
A fantastic way to support weaker learners!
Students read their textbooks/notes to complete a grid of questions in exact specification order.
The structured and active learning method helps students understand the key points and build confidence.
Brilliant for students who learn best by doing. Dramatically improves learning for learners in need of additional support; highly motivating.

A fantastic resource which is clear and concise, easy for students to access. So valuable for pre-reading homework, saves myself and the students time, helps improve students note taking skills as the learning grids focus on key information in the textbook.
It is simple, yet so effective and saves staff and students and time.
Helps them pull out key information from the textbook. Especially good for YR12 students new to A-Level Standard Study.
It's a game changer. Your homework sorted for the year and student's notes sorted forever.
Tremendously helpful. Pupils use these with the new Oxford (OUP) textbooks and it makes the book much more accessible to learn and also forces them to actually do a reading prep and make structured notes. Teacher is reassured the reading has been done + pupils become familiar with the text book.
I think that these resources are fantastic.
These resources are invaluable... I have used the previous incarnation for all my KS5 classes and there is no doubt that those who use them prior to the lessons gain higher grades than they normally would.
Well matched to specification... Particularly useful for less confident students to help them to review at the end of a topic.
Clear and easy to use.
I particularly liked the format of the experiment time task sheet as this provides further opportunities to analyse data. The quick quiz sheets will also prove useful for quick recaps.
This resource breaks information down into manageable chunks ... and shows the level of detail required in the application questions. I particularly liked the variety of activities, the extension tasks, quick quizzes and the links to the practicals. This will be particularly useful in the new course where the practicals will be assessed in the examinations.

Excellent. I think these resources are really useful for weaker students as it helps them to pull out key ideas without missing the level of detail necessary to understand the concept at A level.
Closely follows specification and the presentation order of textbook. This will make it easier for students to ensure they have full coverage of the specification. Will also help them to locate information in text as necessary.
I think that these are great, they allow the student to familiarise themselves with course content and allow me to check that they have prepared for my lesson.
It will be easy to use for students as flow of questions is logical and questions are well constructed.
I really like the questions on the microscopy section – good range of advantages/limitations and calculation questions.
Good range of questions relating specifically to required practicals – will be particularly useful to help students in review for terminal exams. Like repetition of structure in quick quiz section. Diagrams and photographs have been well chosen throughout and help to enhance understanding.

Nicely produced and useful that they match with the Oxford text book.
An easy, effective and supportive homework which provides students with well-structured revision notes.
What do teachers say about this resource? (7228)
Very useful for the majority of our pupils particularly provision of completed answer grid as well as blank learning grids.
Completing the grids would be a good way to consolidate knowledge and check understanding. There is a good range of different styles of questions and some references to graph interpretation and the A level required practicals.
What do teachers say about this resource? (7229)
Excellent. Clearly laid out to guide pupils. Answer grids very clear and a useful resource in themselves even if pupils do not use blank grids.
