A fantastic way to motivate students!Students read their notes to complete a grid of questions in exact specification order. Cross-referenced to ZigZag's Teaching Packs to ensure structured study.
Direct questions focus the answers, separate sections and questions for themes, inclusion of different levels of questions for different abilities, and the answers are clear for teachers
This organised and active learning method helps students identify the key points and build confidence.
Great for students who learn best by doing. Dramatically improves learning for students in need of additional support.
- Requires minimal teacher planning and input – ideal for cover lessons
- An easy-to-set, valuable homework option
- Pinpoints topic strengths and weaknesses for targeted support
This resource acts as an excellent go-to homework activity that can be called on to help students focus as they read and it matches perfectly with the handouts in the accompanying teaching pack

A comprehensive and well-structured summary of the course. Students will be able to produce a list of easy to reference revision notes and the guided questions will provide a great deal of structure to pre-reading for lessons. The set questions cover the whole of the specification and provide a great basis for students to work independently... I like the layout as it will keep notes structured. I like the questions, they are simple, provide guidance and summarise the course well... This resource creates an opportunity for students to do structured pre-reading before lessons. This will help students to take ownership over their learning and helps to create opportunities for flipped learning, as more time can be devoted in class to exam technique. As a bonus, students will be left with useful revision resources, from which recall can be tested... The presentation works very well, it is simple and ordered according to the specification.
I liked this resource.
I particularly liked the thorough coverage of the specification and good factual information.
I also liked having the answers separately.
The resource enhances learning by allowing teachers to register progress eg if used at end of a section and then in final revision. The educational value would be to give students confidence in their knowledge and/or make them aware of gaps which they need to address further.
Matches the specification well.
This is a very useful resource to use as a basis and a framework for students to conduct independent research for the topic. This is designed to go along with the teaching pack and lower ability students could use this alone as the basis of their research... I like that this resource is a ready-made homework solution... The resource really does enhance learning by encouraging students to focus on the important details whilst they research. It works as a complete resource along with the teaching pack for lower ability students and as a starting point for high ability students... The resource matches [the specification] well and should give students a solid foundation. I have checked this resource against the specification and it covers all of the relevant knowledge well.
The question grids are straightforward and will supplement any textbook, and could be used for more than just this module. Direct questions focus the answers, separate sections and questions for themes, inclusion of different levels of questions for different abilities, and the answers are clear for teachers (especially new teachers to this module). Yes, it is incredibly useful and has already helped me for next year!

This is an excellent resource to help teachers ensure that students are engaging in meaningful reading outside of lessons. This resource acts as an excellent go-to homework activity that can be called on to help students focus as they read and it matches perfectly with the handouts in the accompanying teaching pack.... Just print the grids off and hand them out at the end of a lesson. Students will always have a useful and worthwhile homework activity and lesson times can be spent actively doing more rather than just acquiring information.
