The case study structure helpful and time saving for a new staff member. Key words/terms sheet are great for exam and health professional language. Good link to Unit 1 resources as the case studies based on the same village.

I think on the whole that this package was very well thought out and prepared. The Case Studies were excellent... The gap-fill exercises were spot-on for the level of the students.

Very interesting range of case studies which would motivate and interest learners. Interviews are detailed and from a wide range of sectors. Activities are varied and there are suitable prompts to aid the lower-ability level 2 students. Close matching of activities to the learning aims of the particular unit content. Games are used very well to consolidate and reinforce knowledge and understanding of key terminology. Guidance such as how to write a letter is provided before the main activity to scaffold learning, along with sample letters. There are opportunities for learners to apply the learning to their local area which could help to put some topics into context. There is a variety of options available about how to use the different activities and presentations. Some are highlighted to be used individually, some in pairs and some in groups. There are a variety of levels of stretch and challenge and some aspects of the tasks get more difficult as learners work their way through the various exercises.
I thought overall it was really good. It was detailed and put life stages into real life context for learners. I liked the case studies and the activities that linked to them... It put the whole unit into real life context which will enable them to understand the unit so much better. It helps learners to make sense of what they are doing through real life case studies which are very up to date and with which they can associate. It also gives them a range of activities which enable them to work both independently and as a group. The presentation and layout is good. I think it makes it clear to the learner what they are expected to do and enables them to generate evidence easily.
It is very helpful and has some good ideas for lessons based around the case studies. Having case studies is helpful along with the clinician profile and job role specifications - this is what takes time in H&SC - designing case studies appropriate to the Unit. The case studies also were in different H&SC settings - giving examples of real workplace settings and the variety of jobs in the sector.
Answers are very useful. Instant feedback for students too for peer assessment. I like the tick boxes of resources required and topic area covered at the top of each activity.
Generally I like this resource as case studies always help learners grasp concepts.
The case studies give a good foundation for learners to explore before working with 'real service users'. It provides activities to research ideas and local provision of services which could support learners in placements and employment.
