ACCESS FM Product Analysis Project

Alessi Themed KS3 Project

Inspire your students & deliver product analysis lessons with style!

Students develop understanding of product analysis & improve their creative design skills whilst progressing through the 5 structured tasks:

1+2 Research & analyse a range of Alessi products
3 Use ‘ACCESS FM’ for a detailed analysis of a chosen Alessi product
4 Compare similar products on the market
5 Create own product specification – great starting point for a focused 'design & make' task

The products used for the analysis are unusual and interesting so provide mixed and varied responses

What do teachers say about this resource? (3423)

Good quality and accessible for pupils. Always useful to have worksheets even if you wish to customise them slightly... The products used for the analysis are unusual and interesting so provide mixed and varied responses.

P Higham, HoD & Customer

The clarity and presentation of the worksheets are particularly successful and can be adapted to group work activities as well as individual work.

J Martlew, Teacher & Peer Reviewer

Well structured series of tasks for students to follow. Clear concise instructions. I like the final extension task where students have to decide on specification points retrospectively for a given product.

M Owen, Teacher & Peer Reviewer

Promotes creative thought and discussion on design ideas... Could be used as a stand alone activity or as an introductory activity for a D&M activity using Alessi as a starting point.

F Balding, HoD & Peer Reviewer

A resource linked directly to the KS3 DT strategy. Provides opportunity for independent learning and thinking.

V Fehners, Teacher & Peer Reviewer

Very well presented.

P Anderson, HoD & Peer Reviewer

Excellent...an in depth product evaluation. The method is comprehensive and easy to remember.
