What do teachers say about this resource? (13014)

I think this resource is very strong as it provides topical, relevant and engaging material for A Level French. Integrating real-world articles with exam-style questions challenges students linguistically and keeps them up to date with contemporary issues which is very useful for the speaking exam. It strikes a good balance between support and challenge. I like the range of themes covered which map well to the specification but still feel fresh and authentic. The vocabulary and tasks feel well-pitched for A Level. It matches the specification very well, covering a range of social, political and cultural themes. The tasks are appropriate for exam preparation. I like that the resource interprets the specification creatively by using up to date examples such as AI, which helps students engage with modern contexts rather than outdated ones.

C Walker, Head of European Languages & Peer Reviewer

This resource offers an impressive collection of up-to-date texts covering all the key A-Level French topics, making it both comprehensive and engaging. Each text is paired with a variety of exercises that test understanding, develop critical thinking, and encourage the use of higher-level vocabulary and grammar. The tasks are thoughtfully designed to stretch students’ language skills while remaining accessible, providing an excellent balance for learners of different abilities. With full topic coverage, the resource works equally well as a revision pack for independent study, a structured learning tool to build confidence outside the classroom, or a teacher-led scheme that supports and enhances classroom teaching.

I particularly like how the resource makes use of current issues across all A-level topics, ensuring that the material feels fresh and relevant.

On the grammar side, the range of points covered is excellent, fully relevant to this level and targeting many areas students often find challenging.

The resource’s focus on current, up-to-date topics makes it particularly effective for motivating students.

At the same time, the resource provides excellent preparation for the speaking exam, with class discussion questions that mirror the style and themes of the AS and A-level discussion cards.

It includes information about a range of countries beyond France, which broadens students’ understanding of the Francophone world and ensures they are prepared to engage with the diversity of topics they may encounter in exams.

The level of vocabulary and grammar used in the resource is entirely appropriate for the specification.

Overall, the resource demonstrates a strong and thoughtful interpretation of the specification.
