Unseen Sources Preparation Pack for GCSE OCR Latin
J282/06 Literature and Culture
No need to search for accessible information for your GCSE class. It’s been done for you.
Help your students analyse unseen sources in the Literature and Culture exam with this comprehensive and accessible guide covering a range of textual and material sources across the three topics covered in J282/06: The Romans in Britain, Entertainment and Myths and Beliefs
Assist students with their comprehension and analytical skills:- Section 1: guides students through the source analysis process and provides a worked example for each of the Paper 6 topics
- Sections 2-4: includes sources, questions and answers for each of the topics – perfect for independent learning
- Section 5: exam paper, use as a full mock or pull out individual questions for a unit test
Plus! Stretch and challenge - some textual sources are only provided in Latin with questions in English. These can be used to stretch high attainers or to practise unseen translation for Paper 1.
Author's note: While you will only teach two of the three topics in any given year, I have had success in using the third topic across KS3 as a way of teaching a broad curriculum and engraining source analysis ahead of the start of a GCSE course. You may wish to consider a similar approach to maximise use of this resource across the life of the syllabus.
