What do teachers say about this resource? (12487)

This is an excellent resource which has an impressive level of detail on the specified topics for the OCR Literature and Culture paper. The material is broken down into student-friendly easy-to-follow sections, ensuring that students don't feel overwhelmed by the amount of content that they have to study. This is sometimes viewed as the 'easier' paper, given that students aren't required to translate in Latin, but in fact it is still content-heavy and the content needs to be learned carefully if students are to achieve the higher marks in this paper.

I particularly like this resource because...
It is useful to have all of the material for students to learn in one place given the lack of any accompanying textbook. The activities and questions for students to attempt are written in a way that ensures that they are familiar with each topic's material and develops the skills necessary for tackling both the prescribed and unseen sources.

Prior to the publication of this resource, it was left to teachers to assemble the necessary teaching materials, usually using the Cambridge Latin Course as a guide. Given the relatively vague nature of the specification, it is useful for me as a teacher to have a purpose-written guide through all of the topics and not to feel as though I may have missed something, or worry about whether the material has been covered in sufficient depth.

The format is user-friendly being loose A4 sheets which are easily photocopiable without having to worry about copyright declarations. The analysis of the material is thorough, yet not so dense as to be impenetrable to the average GCSE student.

It is worth the investment to have the peace of mind that the resource has been specifically created with the end goal of the examination in mind. To have all of the material in one place alongside practice exam-style questions is incredibly useful and reduces the prep time on the part of the teacher.

It is very well matched to the specification and covers all of the material leaving me confident that students will have studied everything that they need to have done before they take the exam. (OCR GCSE Latin J282/06: Literature and Culture)
