What do teachers say about this resource? (12589)
An excellent resource ... it had the input of 3 writers plus 1 which should avoid bias ... There was a focus on key terminology eg p5,14 etc and the presentation w3as clear with use of italics eg p5,12 and bold eg p12-13 ... I particularly liked the way it brought in extra thinkers which should extend the more able, as well as more specific extension activities ... I also liked the talking points ... It would enhance learning by breaking up the material into manageable ’chunks’ eg with bullet pointsas on p17,and the illustrations eg p18,24,28 make it more user friendly. Its educational value is to supplement the teacher’s expertise, which is often weaker on the ideas sections than on the more traditional content of the spec. The historical context eg p18-19 is also helpful. ... the use of headings/side headings is well done ... It interprets the material thoughtfully and matches the specification clearly
This is a comprehensive resource with all three ideologies broken down for both teacher and student ... In Conservatism i particularly the linked boxes, the extension tasks in liberalism are well thought out and link well to the ideology. The grid in the strands of conservatism section was well thought out an also would be useful ... In terms of a comprehensive description of the key elements of the specification this resource is ideal. It is therefore useful for teachers and in particular students
What do teachers say about this resource? (12308, 12335)
very helpful for the Edexcel spec ... the use of boxes, layout eg teacher’s intro and thorough contents,p,are all good features.
Other sound features are talking points, charts eg p15-16, case studies and definitions., Also liked the illustrations and that it is relatively up to date viz up to Oct 23 ... There were some good balanced answers eg p49 which could form the basis of essays ... As regards 3.1.2 there was an attractive cover and similarly valuable contents pages and charts egp3,7/tables eg p8,11/spider diagrams eg p12,13/graphs eg p16 and even a sense of humour p21.There were also intelligent questions eg p29-30 ,bold, and I was particularly taken with the turnout chart p38. ... very useful resource
A comprehensive guide to both aspects of the AQA specification for politics paper one. The structure is clear and concise with clear links to important facts. The examples cover the key administrations of the 20th century ... A particularly good aspect of the resource is the way that the text is accompanied by links to key information for the students to pay attention to. The voting system is comprehensive but clear with great use of modelled examples.
... links all aspects of the course to clear examples. It is also great to see the author has focused on two particular PMs to evaluate for the pre 1997 period. This is useful as students often have little prior knowledge of this period and struggle with that aspect of the specification ... The breakdown into the two parts clearly links to the breaks in the specification. Also the use of comparison tables enables students to prepare for the key debates in the content. A wide range of examples are used but where possible the author has kept the examples as recent as possible
