What do teachers say about this resource? (12224)
The content is of a high quality and suitable to use as an assessment tool to support the new OCR Cambridge Nationals in Enterprise and Marketing 2022. My reasons for this grading are that each assessment is well formatted and structured, mirroring the structure of the actual exam (MCQ at the start and the different sections of the paper) using the same and appropriate terminology as the specification and clearly uses appropriate questions that are in line with the current exam board.
I like how you have included an 8 mark questions as part of each assessment, even though the 8 Mark question is only ever linked to the content of TA 4. I personally think this a great addition to this resource as it provides students the opportunity to practice this level of response as they go through the course.
The resource is pitched to the right level of learner as it uses the similar level of style and structure to the real exam, which enables both level 1 and level 2 learners to access this resource.
The resource also uses accessible case study content that students will be able to relate to especially in aiming to develop their Application skills.
Each PO has been addressed well by these assessments allowing good coverage of the specification to be formally assessed. This therefore supports the teacher to plan and organise around the outcomes from these assessments in terms of subject knowledge as well as exam technique
I think the content completely fulfils the needs of the curriculum. In fact, I think it fills a significant gap and meets the needs of both teacher and student, especially delivering a course for the first time or new to this style of delivery. Assessment with new courses is always an afterthought, so this resource would be a welcomed addition for teachers to use and apply to the course.
The additional responses to the answers are hugely resourceful. It would be quite easy just to provide generic responses here but these are also just as good as a resource as the assessments. I particularly like the exemplar responses which will provide additional opportunities to offer students exemplars as a means of further developing both their knowledge and exam structure. The mark scheme is in line with that of the exam board also.
The fact that each assessment mirrors the style and structure of the actual exam – i.e. MCQ at the start and increasing in difficulty progressing through the assessment and ending with an 8 mark question will work exceptionally well in my opinion as this will reduce the anxiety towards the real exam, provide opportunities for students to develop their exam structure and provide sufficient data for the teacher to plan next steps or to re-test etc… This resource could open the teacher to quite a lot of vital information such as misconceptions over topics, gaps in knowledge, exam technique
I have fully scrutinised this resource because the course itself really needs quality resources such as this, especially when other companies do not seem to value providing resources for vocational subjects such as Enterprise and Marketing and others. Would I use it? Absolutely YES, this is very much supports the teacher in the classroom and reducing workload and achieving work-life balance as the course does create a significant workload for the teacher delivering this course. In addition the resource provides formal assessment support, which is lacking for this new specification.
I would use each assessment as an end of topic review to show progress and attainment of my students. This would also support my line management meetings with this resource in my opinion being a valuable form of assessment
