On the whole I liked this resource. I particularly liked the variety of techniques to present the material. It enhances learning by making a topic numerous pupils have found confusing, more comprehensible/manageable. It matches the spec well. Nothing significant is omitted and there is a logical progression of material. I would purchase this as it fills a gap in the market and could also be used for ancient history or additional background when studying authors in Latin. It was particularly strong on the letters.
I thought it was good. I think covering the same ground from different perspectives works well and allows the student to focus on the different characters, rather than see things purely as a chronological timeline.
I like the little maps and pictures which break up the text
The activities in Section B relating to the letters are very good.
Usually teach other modules for Class Civ as I don't feel the OCR book does this one very well. I would feel more confident teaching it using this guide.

Overall, I found this an excellent and much needed resource. It provides a lot that is missing from the OCR book. Section B in particular was useful in that it collated much of the extra reading material which is often a bit of a pain to track down.
Overall this is a good resource which will surely help teachers and students with the course. It has a good balance of text and images and relevant activities to help with studying the course. There is a good range of activities to consolidate and solidify the information in the guide. It provides a lot of information and builds on that given in the official OCR textbook. The inclusion of additional resources is very useful, especially when teachers are thinking about planning longer style questions.
On the whole I thought this was another excellent classics resource, particularly as there is not much else “out there” to help students. There were also numerous varied activities right from the beginning. The resource enhances learning by providing helpful exam advice. Its educational value would be to provide all ranges of ability with confidence, as it covers the whole unit, without omissions, in a logical manner.It could also be crossreferenced to help learners re: the Greek art unit eg re: Parthenon or Olympia. Furthermore,the exam skills section is most welcome with its essay plans.
