  • True or false questions
  • Multiple choice questions
  • Debate and general conversation
  • Research and presentation

Flexible use! Hand out to students at the end of the course or at the end of each topic for revision or homework – or provide as independent study.

What do teachers say about this resource? (11765)

I am very impressed with this resource: using mind-maps with accompanying practice pages is a great concept for revision of complex topics and language. It is clearly structured and easy to use for both teachers and students. Each page is populated with information, vocabulary lists and language exercises as well as suggestions for further reading or viewing, thus providing comprehensive coverage of each topic. It does not only constitute a good go-to resource for the busy German teacher, but could also be used as a self-study pack by students who would like to extend their knowledge and practice their skills independently. For many students it will also stimulate interest in further research and may well act as a starting point for the Independent Research Project. The resource will be particularly useful as revision tool, as it provides information and language practice on all three themes of Year 1 of the AQA A-Level specification. It supports topic knowledge and provides language practice for Paper 1 (Listening, Reading and Writing) and Paper 3 (Speaking). The answer key which is provided at the start of the pack is very useful both for quick marking by the teacher as well as self-marking and checking for the student working independently. The resource fulfils what it sets out to do, i.e. support students with the revision of topics they have studied in the course of their first year of A-Level study.

I really like this resource. I particularly like the idea behind it. An A3 spread is visually appealing and quite user-friendly for students. It's easier for them to revise if all the ideas are in one place too. It's well researched with some links to great, relevant resources. I love the glossary in the centre of each page and the key facts and suggested opinions. I like the way the facts relate to all 3 German-speaking countries and not just Germany (as is often the case!). I think the facts / opinions are probably the most valuable part, especially for Y13 revising for their speaking exams. But I also like the way the second page can be used for teaching i.e. seeing if students can remember vocab and facts they have just read.
