What do teachers say about this resource? (12925)

A useful course companion which will be useful for specialists and non-specialists running the course. I also think this course companion could be useful when there is an absence from lessons. You could provide the pages to students and ask them to highlight and annotate to cover missed content. It covers the whole unit and follows the specification. I especially like the check your understanding sections - this will allow teachers to conduct quick knowledge checks before officially launching the coursework as per OCR Cambridge rules. The case studies are frequent and a perfect length to apply the knowledge. The key terminology boxes are a great way of enabling students to upskill their own writing. Learning is enhanced through comprehensive coverage of the content. Able to use this as a resource to reference, it is more accessible than some textbooks in the current format. The "checking my understanding" are really useful. The assignment mark band boxes are all correct.

S Rai, Head of Health and Social Care & Peer Reviewer

Overall, I really like this resource. It is clearly linked to R033, adding further detail to the information found in the course textbooks, as well as an assessment of understanding and a how-to guide for completing the coursework. Activities throughout are always relevant. End-of-section questions and answers will be useful for students to self-assess, as well as offering opportunities for teachers to use these questions too. The section relating to the coursework, together with a sample answer, is another useful addition that would help new teachers to familiarise themselves with the details students need to add.

The case studies are brilliant and can be used by both students and teachers to aid understanding. The information in the resource supplements the course textbooks, adding more detail that students could learn and use as a starting point for their own research. It will be a useful resource for teachers to use in bite-sized chunks in a variety of ways in their teaching, from as simple a task as reading and highlighting, to using the quizzes to identify gaps in learning. The activities can be used within lessons, giving teachers ideas for learning and assessing, as well as students to use as independent learning tasks.

Use of case studies throughout really helps students to understand both the content and how to use this within their own coursework. The activities, end-of-section quizzes and coursework help all add to the quality of the resource. Nothing on the specification is left out. The coursework element clearly relates well to the needs of students, so they are able to use this as a springboard for their own work.
