On the whole I thought the resource would be very beneficial for students to use during assessment preparation. The questions in the assessment are relevant and provide students with a genuine exemplar questions of what realistically may be used during the PSA exam window.
I would be happy for my students to use the following resources as a good exam preparation and mock assessments. I particularly like the range of questions that are included in the assessment papers... The range of different mark questions, but also the range of topics that are included make it as realistic as possible.
I am extremely impressed with the specificity of some questions in relation to the learning aims of the course and how some questions link back to previous learning topics from component 1 and component 2. I feel this resource will enhance learning by allowing students to have realistic mock assessments that are similar to the Component 3 assessment. Due to having multiple papers to use and a wide variety of questions, the resources can be used as both exemplar questions for in lesson revision, a real mock assessment for the students to sit, but also used during lesson time for the teacher to go through how to answer some of the longer mark questions. I feel the presentation of this resource is brilliant... The assessment papers are very realistic.
I feel this component matches the specification extremely well. Not only is there multiple questions included in the assessment paper for each of the assessment aims, they are varied and provide students with a real life example of what they may face. The resource also outlines at the beginning how the assessment paper matches the specification which will be of great use to teachers if they was to use this during lesson time to go through specific topics and questions. I would most definitely purchase this resource in preparation for the component 3 assessment.
The questions have been well written and cover a diverse range of topics. The shorter answer questions mostly follow a pattern of asking “how” or “why” something happens. This really does direct the student to write an appropriate response... It really is essential in my opinion. Overall, a solid resource which will provide students with different examples of exam style questions.
