Students read their textbooks/notes to complete a grid of questions in exact specification order.

Exemplar completed grids for easy marking and provide revision notes with full specification coverage!

The structured and active learning method helps students understand the key points and build confidence.

Brilliant for students who learn best by doing. Dramatically improves learning for learners in need of additional support; highly motivating.

What do teachers say about this resource? (7689)

A very good standard of resources for checking and consolidation of learner’s subject knowledge which includes Assessment objective 1 -3. It provides comprehensive detail in experiment time sections. Will save teachers time as it matches the spec. It has maths questions and practical questions and these are topics struggle with. There are opportunities for learners to improve use of vocabulary. The question types are varied- true/false and fil in blanks as well as short and longer answer questions. The questions are appropriately challenging. The question vary in difficulty and have identified the common errors students encounter. I like that the Experiment time questions involve more reading with appropriate detail explanations for in the biotechnology it is based on a practical students are expected to have carried out but often are not told about what the contents of the agar jelly and so the extra information is appreciated. I also like the suggest type questions for practicals as this is the type of questions students dislike. It has all the appropriate maths questions for each topic as well as questions involving practical such as Hardy Weinberg and Chi Square in the Inheritance section. The accuracy of terminology and questions style matching the exam questions for this exam board makes it spot on.

N Khan, Teacher & Peer Reviewer

I particularly liked the fact that it was concise and highlighted the most important points and consolidated the notes.

It will be extremely useful for reviewing the unit. I can see myself using this for my pupils each time we end each section of the unit.

What do teachers say about this resource? (7651)

A very good quality resource for checking understanding and application of knowledge. Builds up in difficulty, has variety and also consolidates knowledge. Improves recall and understanding to prepare for exams, and will boost learners’ confidence. All topics in module 5 are covered with appropriate questions that bridge understanding. The answers are spot on. Brilliant and a time saver.
The recall and application of exam questions was also appreciated. The 'did you know' boxes would support the more able students too. The page number reference to the Oxford and Pearson book in the right hand corner is great as students who do not get the answer correct can save time and consolidate understanding from the book. It is useful for those learners who frequently score low on end of topic tests or those who have trouble recalling basic concepts.
The author has anticipated misunderstandings such as neurone and neuron being the same.

N Khan, Head of A Level Biology & Peer Reviewer

I think this is a very good resource.

I like the variety of figures used- tables/diagrams/graphs/microscopic images
I very much enjoyed the 'Did you Know' sections that appeared as a way of students to attain further detail beyond the syllabus to obtain more information for their studies. Very good option of asking the students to draw and annotate diagrams as part of their answers

What do teachers say about this resource? (7439)

This is an excellent resource which pupils will find extremely useful.

This would aid the student to check their understanding of the topics as they go through the work, and also for revision at the end. The practical questions are useful in preparation for the written exams.

The unit is well broken down and each learning outcome is clearly asked about. The topic test is useful at the end of each part. The practical questions are very clear and give the student good practice ready for the written exams

What do teachers say about this resource? (7470)

Excellent layout and presentation. ... This matches the specification very well and emphasises the important points all the way through. ...An excellent resource which every student would find useful, whether they are just checking their understanding at each stage or whether they are using it for revision and reviewing before the exams.

P Crick, HoD and Peer Reviewer

I really like the layout + the use of diagrams within the questions. It summarises the whole module in a way that is accessible to students of all abilities. The questions are clearly linked to the specification points, as are the PAG questions.

The quizzes highlight instantly areas they need to focus on.
