Perfect resource. Saves work making exam papers for mocks and homework. It reassures me I am on track with my teaching for Unit 1. Excellent resource - Thank you.

The exam papers have a good variety of questions. The directions that they take is good and take the learners down different thought processes, and how different situations affect different people, and check their knowledge of the different aspects of developmental stages of children and infants as well as mental health and wellbeing of all age groups. The style of questions which clearly link to the specification and also the diversity of different themes embedded within them. The suggested responses were very sound demonstrating the knowledge and understanding of the full learning linked to unit 1. The style of the resource in itself clearly has a strong way of enhancing the learning. The style of questions are robust and using the case study approach is excellent. Good style of presenting the questions with spaces given for responses giving lines for the learners to give their answer. There is a strong link with theorists within all 3 papers which is key for coverage of the specifications. The resource is well structured with good guidance notes given. An excellent resource taking a lot of plotting and planning away from teachers

Excellent content and layout. It stretches the learner's abilities and contains wholly relevant content. I have recommended these resources to other schools.

A comprehensive resource. This is a really useful set of exam questions that reflects the structure of the external exams. The range of different scenarios & the banded questions based on theories. It will support learners to answer the short answer questions but will also challenge them with the longer, banded questions with command words that mean the learners will need to apply a deep level of knowledge & practice their exam techniques in general. The layout & presentation was clear. The resource matches the unit 1 specification really well covering topics such as Piaget & Chomsky as well as Holmes-Rahe & activity theory.

Very clear. Easily accessible exam papers and mark scheme.

An excellent resource...This resource provides a good range of questions and a detailed mark scheme, will save me a lot of time and stress. It has clearly written questions and marks awarded are obvious to see. Having access to the mark scheme will help my students to understand what the examiner is looking for in their responses, an area my students often struggle with.

A valuable resource... it provides this necessary practice

M Bowles, Lead Teacher & Customer

The practice paper questions cover the whole specification and cover a wide range of topics for different types of questions... I really enjoyed the detail of the case studies and how similar they are to the case studies the students will come across in their examination. The wording of the questions is also similar to the examination which will prepare students for the interpretation of these questions. The mark scheme is set out in a similar way to the examination so students will be able to practice meeting the examination criteria.

The resource matches the specification really well. There has been a clear attempt at ensuring a range of questions to meet each of the learning objectives and that the exams attempt to consider a wide range of topics from the specification. The scenarios are very diverse and enable students to consider some more challenging of the topics from the specification such as how service users can be supported by different care organisations or theories… The author has done an excellent job of covering all of the different topics throughout the unit and has been extremely thorough to get a good spread across the three exam papers.

A good resource... The resource and educational value offers practice at exam writing and using the knowledge from lessons.

What do teachers say about this resource? (7645)

These set of exam papers follow the layout of the Unit 2 exam questions (identify, describe, explain and discuss) so they could be beneficial for mock-exam and practice exam purposes. They would help learners to gain confidence in attempting quite realistic exam questions and the mark-schemes could be used for self, peer and tutor assessments. The mark-schemes are comprehensive and easy to follow so could be used by learners or non-specialists... the author has made the wording of the mark-scheme straight-forward, so learners could self-assess their responses. This would be of sound educational value as it could increase learners’ confidence with their preparations for forthcoming Unit 2 exams.

M Fitzpatrick, Teacher/ Examiner & Peer Reviewer

This resource includes three practice papers of the same length and the same set-up of the actual examination. This provides teachers with a range of exam questions outside of the limited amount of the past exam papers and allows students to have access to a range of case studies. The layout of each practice paper and the mark scheme follows the same format as the examination to allow students to prepare efficiently. There is a range of different topics and a range of different command words used throughout the papers to prepare students for the examination. It will reduce my workload and help effectively prepare my students. It will assist with a bank of exam questions to help practice the structure. A good resource that will be extremely useful

K Browne, Teacher of Health and Social Care & Peer Reviewer

This resources uses realistic & vocational case studies... with variations in the scenarios covering different life stages and conditions, which allows for questions that cover a wide range of topics. The exam questions follow the same structure of the external exams, which gives learners a real insight to exam questions. The type of questions covers different command words which will stretch the learners knowledge and application. This resources matches the specification really well. It includes questions which covers all areas of the specification from multi agency work to safeguarding and advocacy. This would be a valuable resource for learners to practice exam skills, answering exam questions, planning exam answers - timed or not timed as well as checking their knowledge.

R Roberts, Head of Health & Social Care & Peer Reviewer

They are written in a way that should clearly be understood by the students and enable them to attempt to access the question and provide a response. These questions are written well, as are the scenarios as they enable the students to answer sufficiently in context.

W Davies, Teacher & Peer Reviewer

Valid and reliable. Liked that answers are included.
