What do teachers say about this resource? (6744)

Excellent... I liked everything including the activities and exam style questions and answers which will help students make sense of the material... Gives students a reminder of the basic ideas in a real world context (always good for helping longer term memory) which they can practice their understanding instead of thinking they know stuff when they have completed some notes or spider diagrams they really can find out if they know the material.

What do teachers say about this resource? (6745)

Stimulating homework tasks... The case studies were engaging and written in an appropriate style to enable students to complete for homework tasks. Being so closely linked to the specification enables an easy homework task to be set by the teacher... The hints included in the case studies (including links to additional resources) are also useful. The mark schemes are written in a more narrative style so facilitating students to self assess to some extent... Ensuring the theoretical is tested via real life case studies is crucial... It interestingly contextualises concepts from the specification.

What do teachers say about this resource? (6743)

Offers extensive in-depth case studies and tests student knowledge and understanding. It would provide useful homework tasks... The material covers many topics in an interesting manner. Application skill-testing is an importantant aspect of the course and this document addresses many topics in an engaging manner... I do like the way how the case studies follow specific topics from the specification and these are clearly signposted in the document.

The resource provides much needed stimulus material for the new courses. It is not overly biased towards the exam questions... The condensed mark scheme was a very helpful addition... The data responses are of an appropriate length. Questions are helpfully graded... The evaluative style questions at the end are good and for either in class or homework... This is a flexible resource. It develops writing style. It can be used in class to practice exam style in unpicking case studies. It can be used as homework tasks... It provides a variety of case studies- data heavy/ text heavy/ graph and table heavy. The questions are helpfully graded testing quantitative skills then more application and analysis skills before moving onto the evaluative questions... Sufficient challenge especially the application of concepts, demonstrated in the NHS case study and the use of surcharges to visit GPs, is well catered for in this well-thought out pack.
