A very useful introduction with good internet links provided and a range of student friendly activities. It provides a strong overview but allows the potential for development using other AQA Lit B resources to enrich students' knowledge. It matches the spec perfectly.
This is a highly detailed 16 lesson resource which is perfect to begin the Dramatic Genres unit. The writer has focused on all of the key elements required to successfully prepare pupils for the further study of Shakespearean and modern comedy.
This resource is definitely worth getting for students preparing for the AQA B Lit syllabus, as it offers support and advice for Coursework. It also goes on to give suggestions for pieces of coursework along with Assessment Objectives that enables teachers to ensure that their students have covered everything. I would recommend this resource to both teachers and students alike, not just those studying for the AQA B Lit Syllabus, but also for those looking at Comedy and Theatre in general.
I liked it very much. It is a comprehensive introduction to the genre of comedy which will save teachers a lot of time. The lessons are well structured and easy to follow which is something I would look for in a resource. The lessons contain an excellent variety of tasks. The focus is very much on the learning experience of the students which is a must for the new Ofsted framework.
I particularly like how this resource makes the topic accessible and relevant to young people. There is a good range of resources and it demonstrates excellent subject knowledge.
Very user-friendly. To include Aristotle and other critical interpretations is an excellent idea for students to become aware of what is comic as of course this is very subjective. I liked the organisation of the worksheets and they are attractive as well as detailed.
It would work well as an introduction to comedy. It enhances learning through engaging and interactive lessons.
Contains lots of interesting activities to use with students to understand the genre of comedy.
