Overall this is a comprehensive resources which covers the content for the BTEC unit 4. There is a good combination of practical work and independent research tasks which could be completed independently. The level of detail would allow even an inexperienced teacher to teach the unit to a high standard. It is very comprehensive in its depth and I believe that if students completed all of these tasks they would meet the criteria for the unit well.
The range of activities available to the learners caters for many different learning styles. It supports independent or dependent enquiry. The resource also augments literacy skills as it uses scientific terms very effectively throughout. There is a nice range of well thought-out practical activities which can be adapted to match student ability or time constraints. The activities are also useful as stand-alone starters or plenaries
A very good mix of easy to approach practicals that dovetail nicely with the course. Covers the core specification with tasks to support learning and progress towards assignments.

Great value, clear, concise and saved us a lot of time making our own resources. Easily accessible and makes lesson time more effective as it frees up time taken for note making, allowing discussions/practical. Clear instructions for pupils and the tables to complete make tasks easier and more accessible
Excellent, well thought out resource, with good spread of demos and practicals. I liked the breadth and detail of the experiments and the detail of the student worksheets... The content matches the specification well and the experiments help highlight the key learning objective
This will save hours of planning time for the practical aspect of the new BTEC course. The worksheets for the practical are clear and easy to follow and would really benefit technicians too. The range of activities is comprehensive and clear... I especially like the dot and cross spot the mistake sheets – this is an area students have really struggled with and would help them to check their answers. The bingo grids are inspired!
The demos and class practicals would compliment and consolidate the understanding of these topics... The author clearly strives to introduce an element of fun into science

This is a very useful resource as the pack splits key scientific skills into bitesize learning. There is a nice range of well thought-out activities such as calculations, card sorts, questions, graphs and word gaps. I like that the activities can be independent, paired or grouped tasks. I also like that many of the activities require the learner to contemplate responses
A gift for any teacher of scientific skills ... It would take a lot of planning and preparation hours for a teacher to come up with resources of this quality... There are so many excellent activities
Good addition to usual lessons - this could be used to bulk up the lesson or as a revision pack.

Overall another excellent product from this author! The activities were very well constructed and I liked the fact that the author has once again introduced an element of fun into the activities. I really liked the variety of ways in which learning was assessed.
Some great experiments within this pack which will help teachers ensure students get the opportunity to carry out appropriate practicals for this unit. Love the parachute practical which nicely links to the assignment but will engage students brilliantly, and love the diagrams for electricity. All the practicals link in with the specifications and the learning aim is highlighted which is helpful.

I like the variety of activities, the traditional classroom demonstrations and practical work alongside the more interactive learning activities for groups of students or the whole class to take part in. Contains a lot of useful material to engage the students in a practical fashion in their studies. Enables students at times to develop an independence in their learning and at other times encourages co-operation and competition.
