What do teachers say about this resource? (4208)

In terms of motivating and challenging pupils I feel that this resource hits the spot. A huge amount of work has gone into [this resource]... the concept is excellent. Each sport is broken down into identifiable criteria that are pitched at the correct level for pupils.

I liked the purposefulness of the resource, with clear indications about progress and what a child will need to do to improve. It is child-centred with a focus on them completing and chasing to get the booklet completed for their own personal benefit rather than it being the teachers job to chase to get it completed. This I really liked! We have a very similar system in place at my current school, to track and monitor progress which this booklet efficiently does! It reinforces the learning that takes place in every lesson.

The resource is excellent... it enables students to take charge of their own learning and see where they are going and how to get there. The whole idea of pupils being involved with their assessment is a great idea. The resource is very useful and will be very effective in the AfL strategy for pupils in year 7,8, and 9. It incorporates the physical and mental capabilities of students which will enable them to be assessed on their strengths and highlight areas for improvement as well as assist teachers with standardisation of their PE departments.

The questions that lead to pupils identifying their levels are very detailed, leading to pupils having a good understanding of the level they have achieved. This further allows pupils to understanding where they are in relation to the levels either side of the level they are currently on. The questions successfully cover enough detail to ensure that pupils achieve the level that reflects the key concepts and processes associated with the activity.

A good resource with clear goals [and] objectives that the pupils can tick off, and teachers can follow.
