What do teachers say about this resource? (3923, 3998, 5227)

A through guide to proofreading techniques. The information is presented logically and inclusion of the BS1261C:2005 proofreading symbols is interesting and helpful... I particularly like this resource because the exercises provided focused practice. The exercises are not simple; the standard is challenging, which is motivating... It has helped me to revise my proofreading skills. I can also pass on some of the techniques to my students... The level of the detail is impressive. It also covers a broad range of error types, including punctuation, capitalisation and grammatical errors... I would recommend anyone wanting to improve the accuracy of their written work to buy this book. I would also suggest to teachers that it would be an informative and challenging resources for students.

The Proofreading Training Pack was exactly what I needed to refresh my knowledge of the BS 5261C: 2005 proofreading symbols. The gap-filling worksheet 'Remembering the Symbols' was the ideal task. Also, the summary of what is and isn't included in the proofreader's role is one of the clearest I've read, as are the explanations of some of the finer points of punctuation and grammar, such as the use of apostrophes and commas, and the stylistic difference between parentheses and en-dashes. Thank you for a really useful resource for proofreaders.

L Palmer, Proofreader & Customer

Very good indeed. It will provide me with a foundation on which I can build and develop my own previous proofreading work. I particularly like this resource because of its detailed approach together with examples and exercises that greatly help understanding... detailed step-by-step approach with exercises... my objective is to strengthen my proofreading skills. This resource is ideally suited to my reaching that objective.
