What do teachers say about this resource? (11777)

Excellent - it was close to the spec and tested the knowledge of the learners across the range or command words. The structure is clear and easy to follow. This resource is good for developing the knowledge of the topics. Presentation and layout is good. This is overall a great resource to help learners to revise this unit

L Elsby, Teacher & Peer Reviewer

Overall, this was a very good resource which will be a useful for class sessions as well as for revision and additional support sessions. The resource has a variety of question styles which caters for different learners. The resource is very well linked to the BTEC Applied Law learning aims and therefore students have a clear vision when using this resource.

I liked the variation of questions from short memory style questions to the application question and evaluation question.

This resource will enhance learning as it will act as a aid to class sessions where students can complete particular tasks. It can also used as a revision tool where students can complete this for homework.

This resource can be used in a variety of ways and therefore is valuable.

The resource matches the specification very well - it covers each learning aim and has a variety of questions for each.

M Ahmed, Teacher & Peer Reviewer

All the topics are covered and in a logical order. The application questions are useful as the students gain a lot of marks in the exam for applying the law and this gives them the opportunity to practice those skills.

I would use the resource as it would be a good revision tool to give students opportunity to practice their ability to recall information, key definitions and statute sections as well as practicing their application skills. It could also be set for independent study as the answers are provided. As students are allowed to take notes into the exam they often feel as though revision is not required. However, it very much is as they will not be able to fit everything, they need for the exam on those 2 sides so they will have to be able to recall some key information, cases etc. This resource will help students to appreciate this and give them a starting point for that revision. They could also be used in class as quizzes, starters etc without the teacher having to write questions for themselves.

What do teachers say about this resource? (12077)

Overall, this resource is an extremely helpful way of both testing knowledge and of imparting it. Teachers can spend time and effort creating resources for learning, knowing that they have a robust set of questions to test it. There is a wide range of question types and skills are tested from knowledge right up to evaluation, giving students exposure to high level skills very early on.

Teachers can focus on developing resources that utilise these tests into their lessons. They can be used as starter activities, as flipped learning opportunities and as in class knowledge tests.

Students can use this test to learn new topics on their own, giving more time to the classroom for application and evaluation practice. It can help those who have missed lessons to aim their catch up in the right place or to help cohorts to learn most effectively when without a teacher due to sickness etc.
Student recap – Checking student work can be done inside or outside the classroom, with students being able to effectively self-manage their own education. They can find answers to questions they missed or did not understand in class and can manage their own revision from home.

All topics are matched to the specification number and content that is tested under each topic matches the general ideas contained within that area.
Skills are addressed from AO1 – knowledge, AO2 – application and AO3 – Evaluation. This resource covers a multitude of topics and levels. Skills across the specification have been addressed as well as options for learning/recap, teacher/student marking and saves a lot of time that would otherwise be taken creating these resources for ourselves.

I liked it, there was a good mixture of types of questions and use of scenarios for application practice. It is a great resource for consolidation of teaching and could be split and given as end of outcome tests.

I particularly liked the variety of questions - the scenarios were good to allow application practice which is generally a weakness for students.

I think it it will help learners to consolidate their learning. It will be good to be used both in class and as an independent learning package.

I like the layout and presentation.

It is an accurate interpretation of the specification - and follows it well.

L Elsby, Teacher & Peer Reviewer

Good for revision and independent study and I feel students would find it useful. The scenarios are very useful for teachers as it is often time consuming to create your own.

C Vaughan, Law Teacher and Expert Reviewer

I like this resource; each section could also be used as homework revision. The tests provides varied methods of assessment which keeps the material engaging.

The varied methods of assessment lends this resource to reinforcing students to know and remember more. Questions are appropriate for the tests and there are additional activities that assess student recall in different ways.

The tests will help students either in their KARM activities or as a straight forward test. Given the coursework nature of BTEC, these tests provide a useful focus of the external assessment of this module.

D Holland, Head of Business Economics and Law & Peer Reviewer

It enhances the retaining of information for students. This resource is a well-thought out resource which links specification topics to good questions.
