What do teachers say about this resource? (11487)

I really like this resource. It provides clear, student friendly explanations of theory linked to aspects of the theoretical framework that underpins media studies. The resource helps to build up students knowledge in a manageable and logical way to help them access the course. I think this is a good reference guide and could be used to set homework tasks based on the information and activities to help students continue to make connections... The use of the "taking it further" tasks pushes students to apply their newfound knowledge... I like that there are suggested answers which teachers can use as a guide as well as use as additional models to give to students... This resource enhances learning by using student friendly language to explain the basics of a concept before gradually developing theoretical knowledge further and introducing different theoretical views and approaches, developing logically through them. The activities at the end of each section allow students to apply their understanding so that they can be confident in their knowledge... The layout is logical with clear sections and and well-presented. It progresses logically through different theories and includes activities at the end to measure student understanding of the theories. The diagrams and tables help to make theories clearer picking out the key aspects the students should engage with in that theory. The mini glossary boxes throughout are helpful to contextualise subject specific vocabulary but it is also good to see a full glossary at the back too.
