What do teachers say about this resource? (11465)

exceptionally thorough ... a highly useful resource that could be employed both inside and outside the classroom to support learners alongside a taught curriculum ... I like how the resource is split across the 4 learning aims as separate booklets. While possibly an obvious choice, this is useful for managing resources in the classroom and for guiding students to understand where what they are learning about is sequenced overall ... I liked the fact that content was presented in small steps and broken up by tasks. This can aid in managing the cognitive load of learners ... The inclusion of exam style questions encourages learners to apply their knowledge in a guided environment (due to having the content nearby to review) but simultaneously prepares them to answer in a way that is suited for the exam they will sit ... I think prompts for class discussions create good opportunities for promoting oracy in the classroom ... This resource allows learners to follow up on their in-class learning, use this as part of their in-class learning, or catch up on missed learning if they were ill or are perhaps working elsewhere ... Alongside the opportunities for oracy, the booklet makes use of dual coding and allows a lot of opportunity for guided and independent practice. Content is introduced in small steps in the majority of cases, which helps learners to process it ... Including images alongside text is a core principle of dual coding and helping learners to process information ... The resource has clearly been developed with the spec in mind. Subject-specific vocabulary is used throughout the booklets and is taken from the specification. The booklets are divided by the specification sub sections (A1, A2, B1, etc.) which further demonstrates the resource’s close relationship to the spec. Where appropriate, elements form other portions of the spec are touched on to link learning to prior/future learning ... it would be useful to use alongside teaching as well as perhaps adopting a flipped learning approach for homework. It would also be good to use to transition students to KS4 (perhaps transition homework over the summer), and I would use it to support students that miss lessons due to illness or exclusion as it is very self-directed ... it's a very thorough, detailed and accurate resource and the author should be commended for this. In its current form it is an effective teaching and revision tool that I wouldn't hesitate to make use of within my own classroom

The resources fundamentally cover the new DIT specification from 2022. The layout is supportive to necessary information that flows into the set tasks ... The tasks and exam questions are in line with the available sample material. The way the current pandemic is utilised within the component is apparent and necessary with the nature of the topics covered across all four components ... Component D showcases notes on exam expectations which is fantastic

This is a highly useful and well-organised resource that clearly supports students in preparing for the external Component 3 assessment. The workbook is comprehensive in scope and includes the key topics required for the unit, presented in a structured and visually engaging manner ... I particularly liked the balance of theory and exam-style practice, and the inclusion of colour diagrams to support explanation and recall. The workbook also benefits from a clear progression through topics ... This workbook provides significant educational value by actively engaging students with exam-relevant content through a mix of reading and varied response tasks. It helps reinforce key knowledge while also developing the skills needed to tackle different question styles in the actual assessment. It’s also well-suited to independent learning and revision, making it ideal for homework or catch-up work ... The visual layout is very strong. The use of colour, diagrams, and tables makes the content more accessible and visually stimulating for learners. The design breaks up information into manageable chunks, which supports learners with different needs and attention spans ... The workbook maps very well to the Component 3 content and is clearly structured around the four key topic areas: Modern Technologies, Cyber Security, Wider Implications of Digital Systems, and Planning & Communication. It addresses the knowledge and understanding required for the exam while also integrating digital literacy and communication contextually, as required by the Pearson specification ... this is exactly the kind of resource I would purchase for use across a teaching term. It is comprehensive, clear, and appropriately pitched for the level and exam expectations of Component 3 ... This workbook is an excellent tool for in-class delivery, flipped learning, and exam preparation. Its structured approach and variety of activities make it inclusive and adaptable ... It would also be useful for intervention sessions or small group revision
