What do teachers say about this resource? (10335)

Includes challenging questions for a range of abilities... There are a variety of questions styles which are true to the OCR listening exam eg, ticking statements, multiple choice, longer sentence answers, true or false and comparison questions. There is a range of melodic and rhythmic dictation questions. The extended writing question and score reading questions are in the exam board style... The resource interprets with OCR specification really well. The extended writing questions are nicely worded e.g. requiring the students to explain how the extract musically portray and depict a mood or season or comical character... The marking scheme is also clear and detailed.

S Orme, Teacher & Peer Reviewer

Very good. Appropriate and wide-ranging extracts that cover the whole area of study. Exam-style questions are in keeping with the style of the exam. Appropriate level for the melodic dictation questions. Good long-answer style questions with detailed mark schemes... Variety of extracts used that cover the whole area of study... It is really difficult to find good melody dictation questions so having more is great. The extracts can also be used as wider listening and for comparison.

N Squires, Subject Manager for Music & Peer Reviewer

Well written...

Linked well to specification... mirrors the final paper well.

What do teachers say about this resource? (9731)

Very good. It is comprehensive and includes a range of questions dealing with all the musical elements... It will be helpful for exam technique practice... I liked the questions and choice of music... The questions are realistic to the questions on the exam paper. As a homework assignment it gives students a great exam practice opportunity, improves independent learning and the real exam will not be so daunting. It also opens the students up to listening to a range of pieces within that style... Excellent.
