What do teachers say about this resource? (10319)

The educational value of the resource is extremely high, given that A Level Law is an all-exam subject. It will therefore considerably enhance learning and success. A very useful and timely resource, given the lack of past papers and exam materials on this new specification available particularly for OCR Paper 3, which will be new to most teachers. Ease of access and layout; very useful forms of model answers provided for the 3 practice papers identifying assessment objectives covered in the answer eg AO1, AO3 and examples of relevant cases which could be used. The answers are not too long or too detailed and are therefore realistic for students.

P Emerton, Teacher of Law & Peer Reviewer

Brilliant resource, saves time, is student friendly and easily slips into schemes of work – useful if staff are absent. All content is directly aimed at syllabus to be followed in the OCR specification.

S Parker, Tutor and Customer

An effective teaching resource. The scenarios in the scenario questions in particular are well drafted.

This is an excellent time saving tool for teachers who have limited sample papers in the new linear specification format. Overall I think the resource is an accurate reflection of the types of question that would be given in the exam. It is relevant to the OCR specification command words and timings. I particularly like that the author tackles some of the questions that have not been on previous exam papers such as globalisation and the legal profession. Teachers can use these as full mock exams and to aid their planning or they could use them as in class and homework assessments. Students can also use them to revise from therefore they have a high educational value.

Another fantastic resource that students and teachers will find extremely useful! Great variety of questions, so it is a broad cover of the specification.

L Rainford, Head of Law and Peer Reviewer

I thought this was a very valuable resource for exam practice. It is set out in the same format as the OCR exam, so this is useful for students. Particularly in the current context, with first year A Level students in 2021 not having sat an exam at GCSE level.

It is structured in the same format as the OCR exam in Criminal Law, so it gives them much needed exam practice. There are three papers, so you can give it to the students in a variety of different contexts: as a homework task; as a practice paper or for revision. Also, there is a detailed mark scheme with suggested answers with the relevant case law and statute laws to support student answers. Furthermore, the mark scheme gives students an indication of the level of detailed that is required to attain a strong grade in Criminal Law.

This resource also gives students a chance to improve their exam skills in preparation for the final exam. This is especially important in the current context of the Covid disruption, as students have had less exam practice.

Excellent idea to have a bank of sample papers. The papers cover a range of material and cover all the necessary assessment objectives.

What do teachers say about this resource? (9636)

Extremely useful. A wide range of practice questions that far exceeds the exam board offerings. I am short pressed for time, so the inclusions of model answers is excellent.

L Rainford, Head of Law and Peer Reviewer

Brilliant - so useful and time saving with clear mark scheme for students to enable them to follow likely indication comment.

It is so focused on the key issue with a pleasing diversity of exam questions and scenarios.

It saves tutor time and has clear exam questions with feedback for students to follow.

Perfectly [matches the spec]. It is the only resource I am aware of that does practice papers. There is not padding - just full of relevant and lucidly presented detail.

This training aid, so typical of Zigzag materials, is clearly presented and has saved so much time for me and has also helped with areas that are not my traditional areas of expertise. Time saving mark-schemes accompany a wide variety of questions that inflate diversity to the syllabus.

Excellent idea to have a bank of sample papers. The papers cover a range of material and cover all the necessary assessment objectives. Scenarios are good and wide ranging. The questions themselves are a good length and give students clear guidance.

A Christie, HoD, Examiner and Peer Reviewer

Overall I really liked the resource. It was very clear throughout and the layout follows the OCR exam question format. It is really useful to have 3 full papers that cover a wide range of the Tort topics, with consistency in the mark schemes to aid student revision. Layout and content of each exam paper is varied and covers a good range of available questions, avoiding the questions that are already on the OCR sample papers.
