Written with an exam focus, allowing students to break-up revision into manageable chunks, and ace their exams!

I particularly liked the clarity of the sections at each stage, allowing [students] to engage actively with the resource. The value of this resource is summarising the content in a way that is manageable.

Each topic area addresses the demands of ALL the Assessment Objectives:

  • AO1 knowledge areas
Geographical Keywords, Key Points, Spec content, and 'Need to Know' boxes
  • AO2 application of knowledge and evaluation of geographical information
Consolidation Questions and 'Take it Further' boxes
  • AO3 data and fieldwork skills
'Take it Further' boxes and flexible Case Studies (including worked examples and scaffolds)

For topics that are applicable to the AS Geography Specification (7036), these resources are still suitable for AS only teaching, or co-teaching.

a strong resource which is well laid out and gives a strong level of detail about Carbon and Water Cycles. The last two pages which give case study blank structure grid is a lovely addition. The consolidation questions are nice. I like the closed nature of them... I liked the wording across the vast majority of the resource. It was clear and concise ... a good resource to revise at the end of a topic ... It has a strong level of depth, without being overwhelming ... This will enhance learning if it is used as a consolidation text at the end of sub-sections of teaching as teachers move through the topic in lessons ... I really like the consolidation element of 'if you only remember three things' that was really helpful

Another really good resource here. It works really well alongside other resources produced by ZigZag. The information and detail is at such a level that it really helps engrain the knowledge that students will need to successes in the examination. The student check sheets that are dotted throughout this resources allow the students to see the progress they are making as well as identify what steps they need to take to ensure that the learning continues outside of the classroom ... I really like the simplicity of this resource. The level of detail is very good and with the extension links dotted throughout it allows students to go away and investigate further on their own. It also links well with other ZigZag products on this topic ... This resource is great for students who are trying to gain an E or D but also has the extension activities for those who are aiming for higher grades. The nature of the tasks allow students to not just draw on the knowledge that is contained within the resource but their wider knowledge which really helps them develop their synoptic links ... All the information is clearly laid out and presented in a way that is conducive to learning for all abilities. As students work through each sections it follows similar styles which really helps ... It follows the same order [as the specification] which really helps ensure that it meets basic requirements of it

Well organised and had all of the components that make for good revision. Loving the consolidation questions. My students have benefited from having 'everything in one place' and actually preferred to revise from this compared to their own notes. I would be inclined to buy the whole package including all the units of work that we do.

What do teachers say about this resource? (9586)

Fantastic, organised into short but logical sections. The consolidation Q’s will be particularly useful for either independent tasks or as interim knowledge/understanding A01/2 activities.

It’s ready to use, clear, concise, supports visual and verbal learners, whilst also having more practical/electronic/to some extent kinaesthetic activities for others – it appeals to all types and abilities of learners.

I have found it more student-friendly than the revision guides, so it will provide an in-between step to progress to the revision guide which seems to assume full knowledge of the entire topic- which is essential for synoptic understanding, but this resource will be fundamental to developing deep understanding as I teach this topic...

Do it! Get it! Use it! It’s a fantastic support and has additional activities, eg: weblinks to practical activities which support the link between theory and case studies prior to delivering major case studies.

Fantastic, if not perfect!

I like the short questions and knowledge pickers... Simple and easy to follow... clear links to the specification... Clear guidance provided of what students are required to learn

What do teachers say about this resource? (9584)

Overall this is a good resource that allows students to focus on the key elements of the Hazards unit. It provides a clear break down of the topic which follows the specification clearly, making it easier to follow.

I particularly liked the ease of access for a range of students. The recapping of processes that students often find quite challenging is good... The best thing for me is that you can base tasks around it, giving flexibility to the class teacher to organise revision activities

What do teachers say about this resource? (9585)

This resource is a very good tool for students who need help to break the unit down or struggle to cover AO1. I particularly like the ‘student check ups’ which allow a time to reflect on what is known and understood, allowing the student to prioritise aspects of revision which they are not as secure on. The use of bullet points, flow diagrams and other visual aids is useful as it allows students to work on chunks, rather than a long, wordy piece, which can discourage students from effective revision.

S. Cracknell, HoD & Peer Reviewer

I liked the use of the consolidation questions and the further reading section, which will encourage students to become a little more independent. The use of the checklist will help students to take more ownership over their learning, and also allows greater depth to be taught in class by using this resource as a "reader" at home. Another way of using the resource is as prior reading for the lesson in a flipped learning style, so the students have the basics which we can then build on in class
