Context Prep Packs for GCSE NEA Food Prep Assessments (NEA2)

Based on 2017/2018 assessments - great practice for future NEA's!

A unique resource, totally focused on maximising Non-Examined Assessment performance.

It extensively details and succinctly explains some of the fundamental knowledge requirements of NEA 2 and with the few resources available for this component this one of the most valuable and user friendly I have come across and I have utilised for year 10 mocks using the activities to help scaffold mini/mock NEA.

What do teachers say about this resource? (8414, 8415)

I would recommend this resource to anyone who is about to embark on the course. Experienced or otherwise this resource extensively assists teachers with an insight to the NEA 2 specification. It is specifically aimed at tasks from previous NEA’s but it does exactly what it sets out to do and puts the specification at the learner’s fingertips. The resource has a logical flow but can also be dipped in and out of when needed by the teacher to support where necessary. It is clearly laid out and easy to follow, and the sections are clearly defined with links to activities which support learner knowledge consolidation. The skill master sections pinpoint where the learner can achieve the higher tier marks within the demonstration of skills or the final dishes section. It extensively details and succinctly explains some of the fundamental knowledge requirements of NEA 2 and with the few resources available for this component this one of the most valuable and user friendly I have come across and I have utilised for year 10 mocks using the activities to help scaffold mini/mock NEA. Written in very accessible style, with lots of different practice activities allowing for the mix of abilities within a classroom. Much of the vocabulary matches very well with the specification. This resource covers the underpinning knowledge and understanding needed at to ensure that learners are fully prepared for the NEA, these can be applied to mocks/mini NEAs and the format is one that for a non-specialist it allows them to see in far greater detail than anything provided by the board what NEA2 should entail in terms of content. I would purchase this as an additional reading resource to support and consolidate learning before undertaking the NEA. A very valuable resource especially for those teaching FPN for the first time.
