What do teachers say about this resource? (8198)

It's simply amazing! This resource absolutely matches and interprets this specification due to its high level of accuracy and variation of activities... Very educative, and the way in which it creates an extraordinary connection between the reader's personal life and the novel is outstanding. This resource fulfilled/exceeded my expectations!

L de Grazia, Teacher & Peer Reviewer (1st edition)

Really useful, very comprehensive and a breath of fresh air as it is not just 'more of the same' that is out there... I particularly liked how it was cross references to the assessment objectives for each activity. Also the fact it had suggested answers, as this takes a lot of effort away for very busy teachers. We need more of this kind of resource! It is very diverse and different to the current materials available. Activities are varied and interesting... It's great to dip in and out of... It is very clearly mapped over to the AOs, no matter what spec you are following, and gives some useful examples as suggested answers... Someone has clearly put a lot of time and effort into this resource.

An excellent range of varied activities to suit teaching of this novel.

I liked the systematic way it works through the novel but also the variety of tasks. The AO/task/objective grid at the start is particularly useful if teachers need to refocus or work on a particular set of exam skills.

Explores lots of key themes and ideas but also encourages strong knowledge of the basics (character/plot) through the activities it provides.

'The resource is a detailed, varied and ultimately useful starting point for teaching this text across a range of abilities... Excellent variety of activities that cater to a number of different learning styles... Good use of modelling and scaffolding for lower-ability students... The variation of tasks and knowledge consolidation opportunities allows teachers to structure a balanced programme of learning regardless of examination board or student ability.'
