What do teachers say about this resource? (7994)

It is well laid out and contains a variety of activities that comprehensively address the specification. The author is clearly knowledgeable and good at making complex topics simpler for teens. I like the chapter structure and the interspersing of questions and tasks to engage students. The range of activities is helpful for students to check their understanding. The information is delivered clearly and concisely with plenty of illustrative information. Looking at the specification, it matches it well. It covers the key points and concepts and would be a very helpful teaching aid. The additional information boxes are placed in a timely manner throughout the studies - introduced as relevant. This is an effective way for students to see the relevance of the concepts in an experimental context.

Very useful especially this year with the clearer focus on experiments and example questions. I liked the questions at the end of each section.

Excellent and very detailed! This is a very good booklet to be able to give to students as it contains all of the info in one place for quick reference.

Excellent, very helpful with a range of activities and practical material. The pack has a great balance of research methods and statistics... I particularly liked the depth of detail on the inferential statistics as this is an area that is often lacking in clarity in textbooks. I also found the answers and feedback at the end very helpful and informative... The exam tips are fantastic! The ethics table is incredibly clear and will really help explain the issues for students.

In a word this resource is phenomenal. It is comprehensive, explanatory, makes concepts accessible for all types of students and aids learning using practical activities and questions. Comprehensive enough to be used for any specification.
This resource is broken down into chapters that distinguish the different elements of research: methods, conducting research, data recording and analysis, and report writing. There are clear explanations with practical activities to practise skills. The layout is very good with the use of tables and different types of fonts. Provides answers to questions which is a time saver and helps with standardisation / moderation.

There is nothing to dislike about this resource. It provides key words and definitions for each chapter as well as a glossary. It provides the terminology for students to check their understanding and use when answering exam questions. It is comprehensive and accessible for students who struggle with the logic and reasoning of research methods. It allows practical application of terms using activities and questions. Identifies fine distinctions, e.g., cause and effect and causal relationships, and offers extension – deductive and inductive reasoning. It includes different types of data collection and analyses, and identifies sampling, hypotheses and report writing. It includes designing different types of research which is relevant to the practical component of the specification. The best resource I have come across in a long time.
