What do teachers say about this resource? (7969)

An excellent resource, thoroughly researched and put together to create a comprehensive (and invaluable) teacher pack [with] high educational value. Perfectly matches and interprets the specification [and] the wealth of information will enhance learning. The author takes the reader through chapter by chapter summaries, detailed analysis, and addresses all of the Assessment objectives very well. The links to the AOs throughout the resource are exceptionally helpful to allow the teacher to keep reinforcing with students how and when they can meet the AOs required. I really liked the organisation; it allows the teacher to move students through an exploration of the text at chapter level, making links and connections to other readings in the specification and to wider texts and draws all learning together to consider the whole text impact. I particularly liked the context boxes, discussion prompts and class activities which I could use a springboard for an array of different teaching approaches. The inclusion of links to other texts are also a useful springboard for teachers. Including specific summary sections for each AO was also very well thought through and referenced. The key terms running throughout the document is useful to prompt teachers to promote key literary terms. It also helps to promote academic writing which we all require our students to be developing.

Comprehensive... I particularly liked the inclusion of discussion prompts and the answers which guide students’ responses to these prompts. The section on theoretical approaches (feminist and psychoanalytical theory) are particularly informative and simplify, to an appropriate degree, complex theoretical ideas by relating them directly to the novel... Enhances learning by matching closely to the assessment objectives and articulating clearly how it does so. The sections on literary criticism is particularly useful.

An excellent study guide with helpful background information, character analysis, chapter analysis and themes and explanations... It is very analytical, annotating each chapter with great details and supporting quotes... The detailed interpretations of each chapter really provided my students with a clear understanding of the novel... It is such an useful study guide not just providing accurate background information, analytical annotations for every chapter and comprehensive themes and characters interpretations, but also relevant questions to each chapter for the students to have a go at... Very, very useful and would definitely recommend it to all teachers.
