What do teachers say about this resource? (8411)
The resource provides clear frames/scaffolds, planning structures and examples for candidates to learn from. It is clearly related to the specification and clearly explains the marking points (AOs) and, in this context, it shows the differences between essays at different levels which is very helpful in order to show pupils how they might improve. The resource also includes a good range of sample exam questions which will be useful to both students and teachers. An overview of the main events of the play with settings, dramatic techniques and themes is also provided in a neat, accessible format... I really like the focus on using and learning more sophisticated vocabulary... Mind maps are provided to help candidates select quotations for analysis. These are a helpful tool for many students... With these structures and examples, they could be shown exactly what to do at each stage of an essay and it would help them to work through an exam question in a logical, ordered way.
What do teachers say about this resource? (8704)
Easy to follow... I particularly liked the scene summary charts and the character charts; they were succinct and comprehensive, and contained apt quotations... It would perhaps be well suited for students to work through independently due to the level of instruction on each task... It enhances learning quotations nicely with many short and apt quotations given throughout, and it demonstrates nicely how to integrate and embed quotations. It also gives a good demonstration of essay writing, with lots of example answers to use as models and scaffolds for students to improve their exam technique.
What do teachers say about this resource? (7780)
Uses a good range of activities and gives varying levels of support for students. Glossaries, suggested topics and completed tables will help those that are LA/MA. I do like the student essays that are specific as to where students can improve their work... I like the clear peer/self-assessment student mark schemes, which also remind the students of the AO4 element [and] the worked-through examples and responses that encourage students to identify certain levelled criteria for specific AOs. I feel that resources such as this would be invaluable to students... The resource is well matched [to the specification] as the revision pages are focused on theme and characters, which the exam questions are...
