I also liked the level of detail of the answers provided at the back of the pack, both for quick factual questions and more developed points...

...This level of detail would make this pack a genuine asset to any teacher

What do teachers say about this resource? (7522)

I thought this was an excellent resource, and very much an 'activity pack' since there are many suggestions of resources for classroom activities that would give a teacher a rich array of ideas for making the text come alive with students. As a teacher of both Dorian and Dracula at A level for Edexcel, I found the section comparing these texts very helpful and insightful. I also liked the level of detail of the answers provided at the back of the pack, both for quick factual questions and more developed points. This level of detail would make this pack a genuine asset to any teacher. Boosts engagement with text including through a range of creative responses which I wouldn't necessarily expect to see in an A Level resource but which I feel add value. An excellent pack. So much knowledge and so many great teaching ideas shared.

Clearly organised and systematic... I liked the extract analysis tasks... I also appreciated the regular checks on understanding that occurred through comprehension questions which would allow pupils to assess their knowledge and understanding... This resource enhances learning through the wide range of different types of activities that can be used by teachers... I particularly enjoyed the variety of different activities that were on offer and how it pushed pupils to explore wider literary texts such as relevant short stories and archetypal myths such as Faustus... The activities at the end which helped pupils to link this text to Dracula and The Bloody Chamber were carefully organised to shed revealing links on how comparisons could be made. There was a good level of detail in the gothic activities at the end.... An excellent asset to any teacher delivering this text: the activities lend themselves smoothly to being offered alongside reading particular sections of the text and also would be easily adapted and developed depending on the needs of the teacher and the class.
