Learning Grids for A Level OCR A Biology
A brilliant idea designed to support
differentiation.
Students work through the question grids to review each
specification point. Working alone or in pairs, with or without
their books, every student can engage with this resource.
Matches the specification very well and emphasises the important points
A godsend for weaker students who find it difficult to absorb information in class. Particularly supports ‘hands-on’ learners who like to write information down to absorb it.
- Leads to active learning, scaffolding of understanding and student confidence
- An easy-to-set, yet valuable homework or cover lesson
- Students work individually, you can focus where the help is needed
- End result: revision notes – with full spec coverage!
The practical questions are very clear and give the student good practice ready for the written exams

Excellent layout and presentation. ... This matches the specification very well and emphasises the important points all the way through. ...An excellent resource which every student would find useful, whether they are just checking their understanding at each stage or whether they are using it for revision and reviewing before the exams.
I really like the layout + the use of diagrams within the questions. It summarises the whole module in a way that is accessible to students of all abilities. The questions are clearly linked to the specification points, as are the PAG questions.
The quizzes highlight instantly areas they need to focus on.

I think this is a very good resource.
I like the variety of figures used- tables/diagrams/graphs/microscopic images
I very much enjoyed the 'Did you Know' sections that appeared as a way of students to attain further detail beyond the syllabus to obtain more information for their studies. Very good option of asking the students to draw and annotate diagrams as part of their answers
What do teachers say about this resource? (7689)
I particularly liked the fact that it was concise and highlighted the most important points and consolidated the notes.
It will be extremely useful for reviewing the unit. I can see myself using this for my pupils each time we end each section of the unit.
