What do teachers say about this resource? (11089)

I really like this resource. It is well written and comprehensive in its scope. It definitely represents a very useful addition to the RE/Judaism teacher’s list of resources. As stated in the ‘teacher’s introduction’ at the beginning, I can see its uses being multi-faceted. I can definitely see my pupils benefitting from this resource, either as a (cheaper) alternative to a text book in its own right, or to use in part to reinforce key concepts, or for revision purposes. I think this is especially true of the summary sections and the question and answer parts, including the mark scheme. I always find this kind of resource quite reassuring as a teacher insofar, in this case, as it ensures content coverage of the entire Judaism part of the specification. I think this resource, like all good exam preparation resources, works on 2 levels: First for the teacher, it provides an invaluable level of reassurance about content coverage as already stated in response to question 1. For pupils, it ensures the content of the specification is covered, but in an innovative and interesting way, going much deeper, I feel, than many similar text book resources.

This resource is very clear, student friendly, and complementary to the GCSE Judaism specification. I liked how there was extended vocabulary to support students, very clearly explained and has a good amount of knowledge to support students. This resource is accessible to a range of students from lower ability and offers the stretch and challenge which is needed for some of our most able.

What do teachers say about this resource? (7293, 7365)

An absolutely fantastic resource - exactly what is needed for a thorough yet concise overview. It really goes into the course in depth... The students get lots of information in an easily digestible format. It is laid out in a way that is easy to understand. The practice material is relevant to the actual assessment - not only does it check understanding of the page but offers valuable exam practice. Great resource!

H Kunda, RS Teacher & Peer Reviewer

Brilliantly presented and extremely useful - I used it every lesson. It covers everything on the syllabus and is good for breadth and depth. This will replace a textbook or online searching. It has activities and practice questions. It also has activities that are more exam style.

Extremely informative and interesting... I actually think that this may be better than the OUP textbook we currently have... I really like that the answers are provided for the questions, this is something the textbooks lack

What do teachers say about this resource? (7294, 7753)

An incredibly valuable and detailed resource, so useful when it comes to the teaching of this really rather difficult course. So many scriptural references that are really difficult to find for Buddhism. Far better than any textbook or document from the exam board

The resource is a very useful one for enhancing learning. It could be used as a whole class teaching tool or for an individual to learn independently... I think this is an excellent resource... I would purchase this and use it in my teaching

Mirrors the specification well and good range of engaging activities… Comprehensive resource for revision, promotes active learning through the range of activities and exam questions. Resource can be used in lessons, tasks set for homework and revision… I like that key words are highlighted throughout [drawing] pupil’s attention to their importance and use… Mark schemes for possible responses are thorough [which] will be invaluable to teachers teaching this new specification
