What do teachers say about this resource? (7153)

In general, I thought that this resource was excellent, and certainly offers very good value for money.

I thought the resource flowed very well, and that it would be very clear to teachers and students alike how the author had structured it in order to enhance their work on Jane Eyre.

I think the range of activities is excellent - there is a good variety of individual, pair and group tasks, and the guidance given to teachers regarding how to use the resource is really very helpful indeed.

There is the opportunity for some very good differentiated class- and homework.

I think that this resource is very well-matched to each of the specifications which I teach. Obviously, much of the material about the text itself is generic to the questions set by all Awarding Organisations, but I like the fact that the introductory pages explain to students following any specification just how the resource matches what they need to know in order to succeed in their examination. I also like the fact that the author of the resource has taken the time to refer to things like why reading is important, the perils of the over-reliance on internet sources and the benefits of traditional libraries!

Most impressive. It is packed with material, and I would have loved to have used it when I studied Jane Eyre myself for my O level English Literature examination in 1987! I love this text and enjoy sharing my affection for it with students, and this resource only makes that task easier.

There is an incredible amount of material here. Although there are many contemporary references to things like Facebook and Twitter, these are tempered by more traditional ways of teaching the text. Quite a lot of the material could be used with Sixth Form students as well, especially weaker ones or those lacking in confidence, and I enjoyed planning how I would be able to utilise and adapt some of the different tasks for various classes and pupils with whom I work.

It is excellent value for money. My students and I would get a great deal of use and benefit from it!

Well paced and sufficiently involving to keep a class focused as they progress through the novel. There is plenty of guidance on additional research that the students might conduct as well as suggestion relating to historical points of interest... The writer has provided an ample range of questions for students to address, and the assessment objective focus of these questions is clearly indicated... The tone of the resource was admirably serious throughout; the writer has produced a resource that doesn't flinch from treating the details of the novel with respect. Their attention to encouraging a close reading of the text, chapter by chapter, paragraph by paragraph, line by line, is clearly articulated in the various activities.
