What do teachers say about this resource? (6750)

Excellent... This resource is a must for any GCSE music student! It really does cover absolutely everything required. Covers ALL aspects of learning required to have a full understanding... It is very accessible to all GCSE Music students, as it explains in detail all the necessary analytical and theoretical elements which are to be the focus of examination questioning. From start to finish, students are guided very clearly along their learning journey, to successfully answer examination type questions in full. I really could not add anything to enhance this fantastic resource.

Extremely comprehensive in terms of its content, both musical and contextual. I wish I’d have had this when I was studying the album for the first time! I particularly liked the combination of written information and score format, so that we are able to explore the pieces in different ways. The use of guitar tab notation alongside standard notation will be a pleasing addition for my guitarists. I was blown away by the in-depth knowledge of the different Indian instruments in ‘Within You, Without You’ and the in-depth knowledge of these pieces. The summary of each piece and glossary of key vocabulary at the back will be essential revision material and a massive timesaver, especially when having to remember all the key points! Would I purchase this resource? Absolutely – I’m looking forward to using it!

I really like this resource. It is accessible to both students and teachers and will really help with planning a scheme of learning. Approaches the analysis in a way which is accessible to GCSE students whilst breaking down the knowledge in each section into easily manageable chunks. The resource is visual, detailed and interesting to read. There are good revision sections and exam questions at the end... matches the specification very well. It is useful for teachers starting to use the new specification and I would definitely use this resource next year.

An excellent resource. Clearly written... Uses high quality musical language to support students in their analysis and broadening their knowledge of this area. Musical knowledge and knowledge of the specification is clear throughout, particularly the information on music technology. The author is very detailed in terms of ensuring the information is accurate and relevant. Very good exercises to challenge and stretch students to recognise themes visually and aurally and to think deeper about the songs... Good visual tasks... Broad range of questions relevant to the specification.

The resource has many useful sections laid out clearly and from many angles. There is a lot of information on the background and context of the music which clearly takes into account what AQA is aiming to do with this unit. The songs are analysed in just the right amount of detail. Many of us teachers are finding it difficult to know what level of detail is required as too much will swamp the rest of the course. This resource is ideal.

Easy to read, loads of info and nice summaries at the end... These resources are great.
