A very useful resource and was perfect for getting students to organise their notes in a logical and coherent way. The grids are set out in a way that ensures students include key details in their notes/essays and refer to important sociologists. We have often found that students find themselves ‘overwhelmed with Sociology’ and these grids are a good way of narrowing down what they need to know, but in a constructive and useful way. Students are also able to use these resources for independent study and we have found them a useful way of ‘filling up’ free time and extending learning beyond the classroom ... We would recommend that other schools consider these as a good base for ensuring that the key specification points are covered and as useful revision exercises. We will be using these to help our students prepare for mock examinations and to ensure that Year 12 content is fully covered as we prepare to finish the course in Year 13. They are simple, but effective ... For our weaker students, the Crime and Deviance research grids have proven very useful and helped to make this topic more accessible for our students. I have been able to set the grids for homework then use them as the basis upon which to build essays. Students have welcomed this approach and have made progress, increasing their marks quickly and effectively. The link to studies in the Crime and Deviance pack is also useful in helping students to work out which bits should be included in key essays ... The inclusion of ‘answers’ is useful for teachers, who can then photocopy these as revision guides for students. They are more detailed than the CGP book and, with ZigZag’s ability to photocopy/edit materials, work out more effective and cheaper

A great way to check knowledge! The grid structure is superb for checking that students have covered the content. Really like the lay out and the questions – they have a higher level of depth than many resources.

The resource is very thorough and covers all aspects of the Crime and Deviance module. It covers all the topic areas and includes globalisation and environmental crime. It also covers the victims of crime, which I am told will have an increased focus in the new specification.

An excellent resource, including clear introductory explanations on how the resource should be used. The grids contain definitions of key terms and concepts and would be extremely useful for students as a revision guide. The resource is comprehensive, and allows less able students to access the required information. An very good resource, especially for teachers delivering the subject for the first time. The resource provided the required answers which is a huge time saver for teachers
