This pack has been invaluable to us in delivering the 2015 Edexcel spec... It explains the subject in a clear and accessible way and ensures that the students have the essential information for each topic... It’s easy to structure a lesson using the information in the pack, it’s also really good for extension activities... Our students find it easier to understand than the textbook... If you’re wondering how to get through this module without overrunning this is a great resource on which to base your scheme of work!

What do teachers say about this resource? (5879)

I think this is a very clear and accessible resource... I wish something like this had been available to give me some confidence the first time I taught this topic many years ago! I think many of the tasks are useful as starters/plenaries and the content notes pages would have enormous value for students. Overall, a very good, professional resource; it’s clear the author has real knowledge of the period and has put in a tremendous amount of work... I like the clear notes pages outlining the content – I think these would be perfect to photocopy and use as a revision pack, or for folder notes, and they have the added bonus of having the learning objectives at the start so pupils can check off their understanding. I think the layout of these pages is very good and accessible for students... I think the main potential this resource has is to provide a clear, chronological set of notes to students studying this period. The consolidation questions are also useful in that they provide a good opportunity for frequent ‘low stakes’ testing, which a teacher could use in a variety of ways, not least for formative assessment. There is some good advice on exam technique, for example the tasks leading up to the writing frame on p.78 which might help pupils to begin structuring exam essays... It’s a good professional resource.
