Frankenstein the play by Philip Pullman: Activity Sheets

Ready-made worksheets with activities to support the exploration of the Frankenstein playscript by Philip Pullman. The activities have been designed to be used before, during and after reading the play to help students access the text, interpret it and consolidate their knowledge. Linked to the KS3 English curriculum to help focus learning.

It provides a good range of activities to engage students in the text, and to ensure they have a sound knowledge of the text, its characters, themes etc.

  2. During reading activities focus on students building their own character and theme profiles; the opening, prologue, each act and the epilogue, exploring characters, PEE exercises, exploring themes, the form and key ideas
  3. End of study activities look at whole text appreciation and creative stimulation.

It was effective for looking at different language techniques and learning about different sentence structure

What do teachers say about this resource? (5403)

This resource is very useful for generating ideas for teaching the text. I loved the AF links and the success criteria. It provides a good range of activities to engage students in the text, and to ensure they have a sound knowledge of the text, its characters, themes etc. As an English specialist rather than a Drama specialist, I found the sections on the stage really useful.
