AQA B: ENGB4 Investigation Project Coursework Activity Pack
“So often, we found that students’ own investigations were developed through individual tutoring and student trial and error where progress could have been swifter if students had understood the significance of the qualities of the exemplar investigations that we showed them at the beginning. This resource pack is designed to encourage that understanding and engagement.” — Rupert Burgess & Sue Thornton (authors)
Activities teaching students how to produce a successful language investigation based on sample data and examples from a range of actual student investigations. The resource is divided into four sections:
- Section A: Assessing the success and weaknesses of real student investigations
- Section B: Developing research skills and using concordance software
- Section C: Working with sample data
- Section D: Exemplar of two high-scoring full investigations which demonstrate different strengths
Also includes two recordings developed by the authors on CD to be used during transcript activities.
I’m excited about using this with my students. It is perfectly pitched for A2 students who have had little experience of truly independent study. M Courtney-Holt, English Teacher & Independent Reviewer
