OCR Lit (first teaching Sept 2011): Emily Dickinson Activity Pack

A wide range of activities which provide structured progression through all 15 poems while drawing all assessment objective skills together in preparation for the exam.

Three clear sections help to consolidate students’ understanding and breathe new life into her work:

  1. Section One – Explores context, its relevance and how to write about it.
  2. Section Two – Thought-provoking questions and tasks on every poem within themed groupings.
Tasks promote comparisons / contrasts and challenge thinking

Useful poem specific exercises, especially comparisons with other poems. The challenges are interesting and would undoubtedly promote further thought.
