I think this is a brilliant resource. It is really clear in the steps taken through the lesson. It avoids the temptation to make everything into a game (which is an all too common feature of low-level materials). I think it has very engaging activities that will guide students toward a good portfolio of work... A really excellent resource.
This is a very good resource, providing a range of practical activities. Many of the tasks/activities are multisensory or can be adapted to be so – activities target all learning styles. Tasks allow for differentiated outcomes... Tasks are varied and interesting. Resources and tasks are relevant to pupils' experiences and interests. Built-in differentiation allows all pupils to achieve... The resource is very user-friendly. It is well presented. Instructions are sufficiently detailed but layout makes reading straightforward...
Addresses all aspects of Entry Level syllabus ... extremely well. Each area has specific tasks in line with WJEC syllabus... This resource is excellent. It provides for directly addressing needs of pupils of this level of ability.

Provides a clear scheme for teachers of Entry Level English. Broad range of achievable tasks, each clearly explained and well thought through. I liked the fact that any teacher – specialist or non specialist – could pick up this scheme and work with it. Each task is clearly set out and offers a wide range of activities. I found the work samples particularly interesting and useful. The tasks are appropriate for learners who have poorly developed literacy skills... The tasks are clearly set out, and the activities are differentiated and progressive. A clear, easy to follow scheme of work... It breaks learning into manageable chunks and encourages pupils to realise their success, which should contribute to a positive learning experience... I liked the 'aim for success' approach, which would work towards building pupils' confidence, and the activities focus on building a good relationship within the class, which is essential at this level. I like that it could also be adapted for a low-ability GCSE class... It covers the main writing tasks and for the specification and guides the pupils towards success.
