Excellent

SENCO Teacher & Peer Reviewer

A really good, comprehensive resource... Develops concentration, memory and promotes success. Buy it!'

J Morgan, SENCo & Customer

I liked this resource. There is an opportunity for students to become familiar with the task and so get more out of it than just as a one off activity. It particularly will emphasise learning of vocabulary of colours and of words to describe the location of objects. The presentation and layout is excellent.

E Quinn, SENCO & Peer Reviewer

I thought it was a very well planned and useful resource which could also be used with pupils with more moderate learning difficulties too. As well as a listening resource, I think it would make a good reading comprehension resource.

D Massey, Tutor & Peer Reviewer

It provides a fun, non-threatening way to develop listening skills and following verbal instructions.

D Kendall, SENCo & Customer

I very much liked the concept behind Using Your Ears... It would be excellent for reinforcing concepts, following instructions etc. while also encouraging careful, accurate reading skills.

What do teachers say about this resource? (2194)

It is a great warm-up exercise and also promotes good listening skills with pupils who have difficulty in this area, whilst also being fun.

F Finegold, Exams Officer & Peer Reviewer

An excellent resource... The activity engages interest. It encourages listening skills, and then through processing the information heard students are able to complete the activity. It can encourage independent learning, promotes a range of quite complex vocabulary and can be easily differentiated.

I am actually using items from Using your Ears 1, periodically, to help a group of Yr 5 students follow instructions. They enjoy the exercise and reckon it helps them focus on information given - obviously they benefit from the interactive colouring in.

H Slack, Peer Reviewer

This resource is imaginative and very useful in class. I have tried some activities out with my kids and they really enjoyed them.
Altogether a great resource which does what it says on the tin. I would definitely purchase it.

Anon, Teacher & Peer Reviewer

I think it is clear on what the learning outcomes are, to encourage pupils to listen and follow instructions, I think that this resource could be used as a starter of each lesson.

It is a good resource, useful, practical and methodical

What do teachers say about this resource? (2339)

I was delighted to use this resource as a trial and it has been very useful in the learning centre. Pupils enjoy the challenge and the process of working together. When working with Assistants for Learning, it is good because the assistants are easily made aware of the task without too much prior discussion.
