Ariel Comprehensive Guide for A Level
- AQA A A Level
Ariel is widely considered to be Sylvia Plath’s most important and influential work, but it is the raw emotional content and the disturbing connotations of the figurative language that make it a continually challenging and controversial collection. As a highly distinctive example of confessional poetry, Ariel is an essential text for feminist and psychoanalytic literary study.
The pack tackles the key stages of text analysis:
Thorough chapter-by-chapter commentary walks students through each section
Drawing it all together
In-depth discussion of whole text focuses on: characterisation, setting, context, genre, themes, attitudes and values, language, form, structure, literary approaches

Plus! A Further Reading List and Glossary of Key Terms
