This is an excellent resource.

Clear detailed section explanations.

Neat selection of critics which could be expanded by student through individual research.

Also, the activities are both useful to test/improve understanding as well as essay preparation tools. They enable group and independent work as well as discussion and presentation opportunities. Concise answer sections.

Context section is very good - students have very little knowledge of this period of history.

I like the little summary boxes at the start of each section and activities at the end.

The academic level is just right to cover the demands of the OCR specification but also to stretch more capable students.

The resource was very detailed and gave an excellent entry point to this challenging and demanding text.

As I was reading through it, I was struck repeatedly by the care and attention that had gone into its production. It was clearly written by teachers who had studied the text, taught it for a number of years and had identified the most significant elements.

The authority of the text gave me as a reader confidence in its scope and knowledge. The text had already been broken down into manageable and logical chunks that then corresponded with more detailed summary and analysis. Critical terms and new vocabulary were signposted and given clear definitions, which linked with their discussion in the body of the text.

This is a resource that is written purposefully with the OCR specification in mind, and targets the relevant Assessment Outcomes with pinpoint precision. I thought the detail given in the sections on context and different interpretations was excellent, and struck the correct balance between giving enough information but not overwhelming the pupil. The links to particular interpretations were thoughtful and illuminating.

This resource would be excellent for pupils and teachers who are studying this text as part of the OCR A Level. The coverage of the relevant Assessment Outcomes was thorough and systematic.

I thought this was an outstanding resource. I really felt that it instilled confidence in me as a reader, and that it gave me an excellent launch pad into further study of the text.

There are some really lovely sections in here, in particular the genre, key themes and ideas, and literary approaches. The whole resource is well written and clear for students and staff alike.

This was be an invaluable resource for a new member of staff teaching Paradise Lost, as it is clear and informative. As well as this, students can be given sections to revise from, and providing the summaries in particular to students who have missed lessons would be really useful.

Key themes and Ideas: This section is well developed, engaging, and has context embedded throughout.

The Writer’s Use of Language section is good - it’s nice to touch on these ideas even though students aren’t directly assessment on AO2.
