Translation Practice for A Level Edexcel Italian

Help students master the complexities of translation through an understanding of how grammar, vocabulary and transference of meaning work together in an idiomatic way.

I love the variety of tasks and the fact that there is an introduction with useful tips to translate, and the grammar sections are always very easy to understand and they provide useful examples in both English and Italian

Really useful and well-organised. At last a resource for A level Italian that fits perfectly with the requirements of the exam!

It is based on the topics we need to cover, so my students get to practise an essential skill while acquiring valuable content. It’s great to have translations both ways.

It saves me having to make all of my own resources, which is what I usually have to do.

On the whole I think this is a very good resource to prepare A Level Edexcel Italian students for the translation exercise. This resource definitely matches the new A Level Italian spec and it is great considering there are no textbooks for A Level Italian yet. I love the variety of tasks and the fact that there is an introduction with useful tips to translate, and the grammar sections are always very easy to understand and they provide useful examples in both English and Italian. These texts are not only great to practise grammar and technical vocabulary but also to provide facts, examples and percentages to students which they will need to use in their speaking exam! So this is really useful. Thank you! Well done! This is a very good resource which I am definitely going to buy.

I liked this resource very much and I think it is also very helpful in my lessons. This will help my students as I will be using it as End of Units Test, so it will help tracking students progress and knowledge of the topic or theme. I would highly recommend tis resource as it covers all topics and major sub topics of the year 1 programme.

This translation booklet covers themes/topics for Italian AS and A-Level new spec. Most activities are great to support and expand learning. Some activities are good to challenge and stretch students, whereas some other activities (grammar points) are excellent to revise key concepts. In particular the match up activities and find the odd one out are useful to engage all learners. I would use section A as warm up activity/grammar revision and set homework for this resource. The fact that students can also mark their own answer makes this resource useful for independent learning as well.
