Pre-order Items

Pre-order resources will either have a single dispatch date or a date range. Where there is a date range:
  • The earlier date is the best-case scenario – the date by which we aim to dispatch the resource to you, if the resource sails through quality and similar checks.
  • The later date is given to indicate the latest date by which you should expect the resource to be dispatched.

These dispatch dates may occasionally be moved back, in which case we will notify you. Conversely, publications are often delivered earlier than the dates shown.

About a Boy Weaker Learner Support Pack

The resource is pitched at those students who like English but find it difficult, and those who are indifferent. It aims to engage weaker learners with the text, support their understanding of key literary aspects and consolidate their knowledge ready for an exam.

A perfectly-pitched resource. This resource is well-constructed with both indifferent and enthusiastic weaker learners in mind. E Evans, English Teacher & Independent Reviewer
Includes:
  1. Write-on worksheets to engage students with five main events, key characters, themes, form and structure, and language
  2. Accessible plot summaries in the style of the key character to be used before and after reading the book to support students’ understanding
  3. Other stimulating activities, such as essay practice, a quiz, terminology and key word card game and mind maps
  4. PowerPoint presentation exploring key contextual points

All activities are linked to student friendly assessment objectives so that students understand how their studies relate to their exam.

What do teachers have to say about this resource? (5347)
"A perfectly-pitched resource. This resource is well-constructed with both indifferent and enthusiastic weaker learners in mind. It includes a lot to boost students to the next level without being overwhelming or inaccessible. The creative tasks are really well thought-through, giving students a chance to enhance their vocabulary and think critically as well as doing something led by imagination. The Student Assessment Objectives Guide (SAOG) was an excellent touch, particularly with the checklist of activities and how pupils are learning. If this resource hasn't prepared them for exam practise and developed answers, I don't know what will." E Evans, English Teacher and Ind. Reviewer
"I really like the range of tasks and activities which include independent and group work. The resource is very clear and well explained which makes it very well pitched to low ability groups. The tasks are fun and engaging and I really like how the AOs are explained to students." K Greaves, English Teacher and Ind. Reviewer
