What do teachers have to say about this resource? (5125)
'It is very thorough and closely linked to the specification. I like the length of the videos and that they can be dipped into for each section of the topic... the content has been very carefully designed... I think the worksheets help to engage the students too, and are well thought out.'N Pedoe, Geography Teacher & Independent Reviewer
'The videos are perfect length and the worksheet focuses the students exactly where you want with little snippets of case study information. It is also useful to have the completed copy to save the teacher making notes during the clip & enables you to go through the work at the end of the lesson. I think they would be very useful as plenary clips to re-cap the learning that took place that lesson.'L Keeley, Geography Teacher & Independent Reviewer
'The answer grids are clear and the provided answers are clearly expressed... I can see the individual sections being uploaded onto a VLE for pupils to access as they learn about or revise each section, but I cannot imagine showing these in class. You certainly could not use the whole video in one go... I like the simplicity and the focus on key words and definitions from the specification. Use of sketch diagrams in the student worksheets is useful... It could be useful to pupils who struggle to read the information from textbooks and it is well broken down into manageable sections for exam-learning... There are clear links with the specification.'K Palfreyman, Geography Teacher & Independent Reviewer
What do teachers have to say about this resource? (4513)
'The worksheets that go with the videos are very clear and user friendly. It is a simple, yet effective resource for revision purposes. It would certainly provide a useful supplement to classroom teaching, perhaps being placed on the VLE for students to access from homeI liked the simplicity of the write-on worksheets and the way that they match the video clips. I like the division of the clips into clear sections to allow single clips to be used as revision at different stages through the course. This would definitely help students revise core ideas and offers simple case studies to supplement those taught in class. I do think that it would encourage students to revise independently, using the clips and worksheets to test their understanding and recap previous work. It could also be used effectively for students who are re-sitting AS papers. They could watch the clips before attempting past paper questions to test their knowledge and understanding... The worksheets are very clear and have good use of space to write in. It matches the specification very well, covering all key processes and landforms, as well as appropriate case studies and river management strategies.'K Palfreyman, Geography Teacher & Independent Reviewer
"A really useful resource that will have an impact on your students' learning and grade... very different... a really well constructed and useful resource to assist students and teachers. It is well planned and very easy to use - can be used both in class or as an independent study resource... a well planned resource that has got a great breadth and depth... explores the complete course [in] a different form of presentation that students will really value. It is a must for visually impaired students... It will engage students and provide them with a great learning tool. It has great breadth as a resource and provide them with an alternative to a book and goes beyond it in terms of depth... It comprehensively covers the specification with a good depth and clear explanations that students will benefit from. The examples cover the specification and this is supported with a high level of terminology that students should learn from." — T Dixon, Geography Teacher, Examiner and Independent Reviewer
